Westgate Gardens
There are 11 acres of historic public gardens to explore dating back to the Middle Ages, in which you can find medieval ruins, a Norman archway and the 200 year old Oriental Plane, plus Burma Star Association and Itay Star Association war memorials.

It also winds alongside the River Stour so there are pleasing waterside walks too, where one can often see moorhens, ducks and swans.
The Toddler Cove kiddies' play area provides some play structures and equipment for under 7s, but this is one to watch for next summer as they use their recent Lottery funding to join Westgate Gardens, Tannery Field, Toddlers' Cove and Bingley Island, with a new play park a leading point of the planning. It's unclear whether there will be any disruption to the existing play area during the changes so be sure to check it out if it's going to be the high point of their day.
