Description
We are a team providing a rescue service, 24 hour care and rehabilitation facilities for injured raptors. We provide a permanent, caring environment for raptors unable to return to the wild. We are committed to increasing rare species, and sharing knowledge and information on the medical treatment and rehabilitation of raptors.
Emergencies are handled 24hrs a day, check our emergency page for information on what to do and our contact phone number.
The Raptor Foundation is permanent home to over 200 birds, comprising 40 different species of raptor. The full list of species with information and galleries is available for viewing here.
We also offer educational services to schools & other groups and can provide courses in all aspects of falconry & ownership of birds of prey. We are able to give educational demonstrations at your location or at The Raptor Foundation. For training courses, we have on site accommodation available.
As part of our commitment to education, we can also provide work experience placements for children at local schools. Children & schools are welcome to contact us for more information about what this would entail.
Opening Times and Admission Prices 2011
The Raptor Foundation is open to visitors every day of the year, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day (26th December) and New Years Day. We are open from 10am until 5.00pm (dusk during winter months).
Up until recently, if you were a UK income tax payer, the GiftAid
scheme enabled us to claim back the income tax portion of the standard
admission price. Unfortunately, we can now only do this if you make an
additional contribution equivalent to 10% of the admission price. If you
are able to do this, we can claim 25% of the total price back in
GiftAid. This means that if you can donate 50p more on a standard £5.00
adult admission price, then we can claim back an additional £1.37 in
GiftAid. Below are our standard admission prices, along with the
admission prices with the minimum donation to allow us to claim Gift
Aid. If you do pay UK income tax, then you can see that for a small
additional donation, the Raptor Foundation can benefit by a much larger
amount.
