Description
Come to Flatford in Suffolk on the serene River Stour for the beautiful scenery. The place from which John Constable took much of his inspiration for his paintings, and for the best and most interesting way to spend time and explore the Stour Valley is by rowing boat, to travel along this peaceful stretch of river, hiring a rowing boat from Flatford will give you the opportunity to row upstream following the river as it meanders through the water meadows towards Dedham.
Exploring the valley in this way confers one distinct advantage, once you feel you have rowed far enough, you can let the gentle river current carry you back your starting point.
Pricing
We charge eight pounds per hour and five pounds for half an hour. We are open 7 days of the week from march 1st to mid October.
We are open from 10 AM till late
If you want a boat before 10 AM they are available. If no one is
available on the landing stage please make your way round to The Granary
bed and breakfast (30 yards down the lane) and knock on the door.
Evening rowing and group bookings are available.
