Chelmer Park

Chelmer Park is a popular park, specialising in sporting activities. It is home to National League Chelmsford Hockey Club and Chelmsford Cricket Club. The outdoor gym equipment is very popular with people of all ages. A toddlers’ play area is located in one corner. This is surrounded by trees and shady areas. Parents can sit on the benches provided and watch their children play. A junior play area, with a soft surface, is also available for children up to 12 years. This contains lots of interesting equipment, including: a button swing two large (one very large) slides lots of climbing apparatus A little known feature of Chelmer Park is the apple orchard. This backs onto Peregrine Drive at the back of the park. As well as being a fruit producing orchard it is a wonderful wooded area to walk or play in. Admission: No entry fees.
