A new £9m sports and leisure facility has opened at the Broadwood stadium in Cumbernauld.
The leisure centre has a state of the art gym overlooking the football pitch, fitness studios and sports hall.
The new facility will be a venue for next summer's International Children's Games, which will see over 1,500 young people come to Lanarkshire for the world's biggest youth sporting event.
Chair of North Lanarkshire Leisure, Councillor Jim Logue said: "Broadwood is now a major sports and leisure venue in a prime location.
"We are hoping that it can be used by countries as a pre-training facility ahead of the Commonwealth games, Olympic games and 2011 Children's Games."
The Broadwood facility also has martial arts and dance studios, a kids soft play area and a café.
Blane Dodds, chief executive of North Lanarkshire Leisure Ltd, said: "We are encouraging people along to see for themselves just what a superb facility this is."
