Aikido is a Martial Art but it is not based on aggression, muscle mass or strength, it’s not about trading punches, kicks or physical strength to each other. With street crime increasing Aikido can prevent you from being a victim as it allows you to spot potential dangers before they escalate maintaining situational awareness of your surroundings. Aikido’s clever principles and techniques can be applied to someone of any size, weight or build to help you get away from the situation. Theses principles and techniques are designed around reading body language and being able absorb and redirect the attackers energy to neutralise an attack to control a situation and keep one out of harm’s way.
