Wallasey Beach
Beaches are one of Wirral's most important assets and are a dynamic feature of the coast, changing over time in response to nature and human influence.
This year’s Good Beach Guide makes for pleasurable reading as it focuses on three of our four designated bathing beaches (Meols, Moreton and Wallasey) being listed as ‘recommended’, the guide’s highest accolade.

This recommendation is only given to beaches that have bathing water tested by the Environment Agency throughout the year and that meet the highest European standard for water quality.

In recognition of this outstanding achievement, Wirral is set to fly the Marine Conservation Society flag at its three recommended beaches. We believe this is the first time the MCS has given this level of endorsement to any of the beaches featured in their Good Beach Guide.

The beaches at West Kirby, Meols, Moreton and Wallasey all have Wirral Council seasonal Lifeguards patrolling at peak times and have nearby toilet facilities.

They also provide information on tide times and other local environmental conditions, as well as maps showing restrictions for water and beach users and promoting safe areas for bathers.
