Description
Vauxhall
City Farm is an oasis in the heart of London, providing the local
community and visitors from afar the opportunity to stay connected to nature and animals. Covering
1.5 acres of land, Vauxhall City Farm is home to over 80 animals, which
provides a chance for Londoners to meet farm animals face to face from
rare breed sheep and cows to animals from other regions of the world:
our three lovely alpacas from South America via Devon!
Vauxhall City Farm has a Farmyard Project as well as a busy Riding project. We also provide opportunities such as Volunteering, Educational activities for all ages, in addition to arts & crafts and environmental projects. We have an active Youth programme and training for people in the local community and beyond.
The farm
is a sensory experience with smells to accompany the bleating, mooing,
neighing and oinking! A walk through the farm gives you the opportunity
to meet the animals ranging from guinea pigs to alpacas, goats and cows,
to ferrets and horses.
You
can walk into our small animals enclosure where you can get close up to
our chickens and rabbits and with opportunities to handle the smaller
animals and visit our Ecology garden. Or simply watch the animals
grazing in the paddocks or a riding lesson in the school arena.
With information points and our committed volunteers, we make everyone’s
experience of the animals as positive and interactive as possible. As
you carry on through the farm you reach the duck pond and the community
garden.
