The Keep Military Museum
The Keep Military Museum is a striking landmark on the Bridport Road in Dorchester.

Completed in 1879, it was designed to resemble a Norman Castle, and is built of Portland stone, which gives it a white appearance.
The museum exists to present and preserve the history and artefacts of the Regiments of Devonshire and Dorset whilst promoting inspiration, and learning.
On display over three floors are the weapons, medals and of course the stories of the soldiers and their families. There are a number of exhibitions, computer and digital presentations telling over three hundred years of the history of soldiers who have served in the regiments of Devon and Dorset.
If you and the kids have a head for heights, you can get a great view over Dorchester from the roof of the West Tower, but be warned, it is 20 meters above street level!
There is wheelchair access to all display floors by lift.
