Salcey Forest
Salcey Forest is an oasis of nature and history only 7 miles from the centre of Northampton.

Whether you want a family day out, a chance to see the wildlife of the forest, or just to pop in for a cup of tea in these beautiful surroundings, Salcey Forest has it all.

For bird's-eye views - ascend the all-ability Tree Top Way and see Salcey from a completely different viewpoint, with fantastic views in store at the top. Be warned - you'll need a head for heights!

Hit the trails extensive trails to help you explore the forest, with three walking trails, two of which are surfaced easy-access paths. There is a 5 mile family cycle route and a 5 mile horse riding trail with a car park for horse boxes to use.

By the main car park you'll find a cafe, toilets, children's play area, information point and picnic areas.

Opening times

The car park is open all year round (Closed only on Christmas Day).

Winter GMT (Nov - Mar): 8am - 5pm
Summer BST (Apr - Oct): 8am - 7pm

Main car park barrier: This will be locked at the closing time listed above. A call-out charge will be payable to our security contractors to reopen the barrier should any vehicle become locked in.

Please note: It is an offence to overnight in a vehicle on this site.
Charges
The main car park is Pay & Display. Parking charges apply to all vehicles, including Blue Badge holders, minibuses, and coaches.

·         £1.50 for an hour or £4 for the day (for cars and minibuses)

·         £10 all day for coaches
