Getting to the Castle There is only one ferry provider to Rothesay Castle, Caledonian MacBrayne (Calmac). Trains run from Glasgow Central Station to Wemyss Bay connecting with a Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. The Castle is a few minutes walk from the Ferry Terminal. STB Category 2 - Wheelchair access is available to the entrance passageway of the 16th century forework with display boards, the courtyard and external grounds.
The Great Hall, castle model and dungeons are not accessible to people with physical disabilities due to a steep stair.
Parking is available in Guildford Square, about 90 metres away. Visitors with disabilities can be set down at the property. Toilets and shop: STB Category 3.
