Prince Bishop River Cruiser, Durham

The Prince Bishop operates one hour sightseeing cruises from Easter to October including Bank Holidays.

The cruise takes in many of the Cities sights from the unique perspective of the River Wear. Taking approx one hour the boat casts off from our jetty beneath the Prince Bishops shopping centre and takes a course upstream. After taking in views of the Bandstand, Racecourse and prison we turn and head downstream towards the Cathedral (this is as far upstream as we can go due to shallow water).

On our trip to the Cathedral we take in some spectacular views of the cities bridges, the castle and many of the Durham University buildings.

Once past Prebends bridge we turn above the wier and take in the most impressive and famous view of Durham Cathedral towering above the river and the Old Fulling Mill.

We provide a live commentary on each daytime cruise that we try to keep light hearted but informative.

The Boat has toilets and a fully licensed bar on board and boasts twin decks including upper lounge and sun deck.
