Northern Modelling Exhibition - Urmston
The Northern Modelling Exhibition is the largest of its kind in the North West of England, catering to modelling and engineering enthusiasts of all ages. From Saturday 2 March to Sunday 3 March, EventCity in Manchester will play host to hundreds of exciting exhibits from across the modelling spectrum, from model boats, cars and planes, to live steam and electric model railways, and even rocketry. The event’s organisers are encouraging hobbyists from all modelling and engineering backgrounds to attend the event, which showcases the cream of UK model making exhibitors from around the country, and is the largest of its kind for modellers in the North West of England. Visitors young and old will be able to enjoy a range of exciting demonstrations from the 40 modelling clubs and associations already signed up to attend the 2013 show. The first ever Northern Modelling Exhibition ran from Friday 2 March to Sunday 4 March this year and saw 7,500 visitors travelling to EventCity. Its sister event, the London Modelling Exhibition is known as the South’s largest modelling and model engineering exhibitions, attracting 15,000 visitors annually. Avril Spence, exhibition manager at Meridienne Exhibitions, said: “The North is home to hundreds of keen modellers and hobbyists from all walks of life, and we are very excited to be able to bring them together under one roof for the 2013 Northern Modelling Exhibition. “This year’s event was a huge success and we are delighted to be able to bring it back to Manchester. We look forward to welcoming enthusiasts of all ages to the event in March next year.” Andy Orr, managing director at EventCity, said: “The Northern Modelling Exhibition had an undeniably successful debut at EventCity and we’re thrilled to welcome it back for the second year running. It’s an incredibly popular show, now catering for the modelling enthusiasts of the North, and is fast becoming synonymous with its London counterpart.”
