Living Coasts - Torquay
Living Coasts, Torquay's Coastal Zoo, is a unique, world class aquatic visitor attraction, focusing on the conservation of coastal and marine life around the globe. It has been developed by Paignton Zoo, with financial support from the South West Regional Development Agency and the European Regional Development fund.

Take a journey around the coasts of the world where amazing plants and animals live life on the edge. At Living Coasts, you'll see birds and mammals in specially-designed naturalistic habitats. With outdoor and indoor exhibits, there's plenty to see and do whatever the weather.

Living Coasts is a member of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the European Association of Zoos and Aquarium and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

A new indoor exhibit which opened in March 2008, Local Coasts is an indoor area which gives you an insight into the wildlife and habitats found along the coast. Coastlines are ever changing and at the mercy of the sea. The fascinating array of plant and animals found on our shores is as good as anywhere in the world. There are many and varied coastal habitats in the South West. From kelp forests to colourful reefs; tranquil estuaries to wave-pounded rocky shores.
