Description
Good morning and welcome to the website of the HULA Animal Rescue the Home for Unwanted & Lost Animals. HULA animal rescue is a registered charity which was formed in 1972, and has been established for 32 years. We provide Sanctuary for Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, and other domestic animals until new homes can be found. We also have a number of resident animals including Goats, Pigs, Sheep, Cows, Ponies, and a Donkey who are permanently retired here. We operate from a 17 acre site where all of our animals are situated. We also have a shop in Woburn Sands which sells a large selection of nearly new goods including clothing, ornaments, toys, books and videos.
HULA Animal Rescue is located approximately two miles from junction 13 of the M1 motorway, and approximately 6 miles to the south of Milton Keynes. Please follow the link below, which will display a map of our exact location. We are open to visitors every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 1pm and 3pm, and on some Public Holidays but please phone to check our opening times on Public Holidays.
Our Charity Shop is situated in Woburn Sands and sells a selection of nearly new clothing, ornaments, gifts and toys. The HULA Shop opened approximately two years ago before the devastating Foot & Mouth Disease outbreak in 2001. If it was not through the income provided by our Shop, the South Midlands Animal Sanctuary would have inevitably closed during the out break. Thankfully none of our animals were affected during these times, however the Sanctuary was closed to the public for eight months and no fundraising events could be held there. The South Midlands Animal Sanctuary was badly hit due to this lowered income. Since then it has been an uphill struggle for us to gain a better financial footing but we are slowly recovering from this tragedy. Please come along and visit our Shop, our stock is regularly rotated and there are always fantastic bargains to be found.
