PLAN A GREAT DAY OUT
Harrow's Scar Milecastle and Wall is part of the Birdoswald Roman Trail.

Harrow's Scar Milecastle is close to Birdoswald Roman Fort, and the section of wall between the two is one of the most popular sections of Hadrian's Wall. A tearoom and toilet facilities can be found at Birdoswald.

Also nearby is Lanercost Priory. Its tranquil setting belies a troubled history - it suffered frequent attacks during the Anglo-Scottish Wars. Today you can see its beautiful cloisters, spot recycled Roman stonework and roam the ruins.
