Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station Experience - Helston
Set in the dramatic landscape of the Lizard Peninsula Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station rises up from the heathland. Goonhilly was once the world's largest earth station with over 60 dishes pointing into space, but now houses the unique Future World attraction. Goonhilly was responsible for sending and receiving millions of telephone calls, TV pictures, faxes and internet connections around the globe, it was the first earth station to receive "live" TV images from America and broadcast "Live Aid" back in 1985, which became the most watched TV show in history!

As you wander around the informative visitors centre, you can journey through 200 years of international communications history and see just how these huge dishes actually worked using interactive displays and by watching our fabulous film show.

Goonhilly offers something for everyone and has plenty of WOW factors to keep everybody enthralled during a visit and now that we have Future World here too, there's even more reasons to come.
