Description
Dramatically situated above Dollar Glen, is the forbidding-looking 15th century fortress, Castle Campbell.
The castle was the lowland stronghold of the Campbell earls of Argyll who were seldom far from the major political and religious events of late medieval Scotland. Summer café (home baking). A circular walk winds through the step sided glen; the ancient woodland is rich wid flowers and birds. | Location | 1.5 km north of the A91, East of Stirling.

Public transport - From Stirling Station walk, 4 mins to Murray Place. Take Stagecoach bus no 23 (St Andrews) to Dollar Bridge Street (33 mins). Walk 30 mins to Castle Campbell.

| | Accessibility | There is a grassed terrace, although access via the cobbled yard can not easily be crossed for visitors with wheelchairs. The castle interior is not suitable for visitors with physical disabilities.
