Trace the history of Cardigan from pre-Norman times to the present day
in this 18th century warehouse at Teifi Wharf which is managed by
Cardigan's historic society, Hanes Aberteifi.
Opened in June 1997, Cardigan Heritage Centre is housed in a Grade 2 listed building on the banks of the river Teifi.
The
development is managed by Hanes Aberteifi who have put together a
permanent exhibition tracing the history of the town form pre-Norman
times to the present day. The society also organises a range of changing
exhibitions on local themes.
Books on local history, souvenirs, postcards and other heritage related items are on sale in the small gift shop.
There
is also a cafe with a river terrace and picnic area. Entrance to the
cafe is free but there is a small charge for access to the exhibitions.
There is full disabled access and toilets at the rear of the building.
