Cannon Hall Museum is a charming country house museum set in 70 acres of historic parkland.
Kids will love the childrens room with costumes, puzzles and hands-on learning plus the war zone with sights and sounds of war through the ages helping history come to life.
The gardens outside the museum are beautiful with plenty to explore and a great place for a game of hide and seek. There's also the Fairytale folly for the children to play in. Fairyland incorporates some atmospheric stone arches with sweet winding paths, cute fish ponds, stands of majestic Yew trees and a babbling stream with stone bridge to create a dream-like garden.
Family trails are available and fishing in the lower lakes is also available and tickets are available from the car park ticket machines.
And right next door you've got Cannon Hall Petting Farm and Adventure Playground which is managed separately but a great way to extend the day out even further!
Entry to the museum, park and gardens is free, though there is a charge for some events.
Parking costs £3 per day for cars, coaches £5.
