Bedford Treasure Trail
Bedford is a lively market town, with a rich heritage, renowned as having one of the finest riverside settings in the country. The Trail takes you alongside the River Great Ouse, through beautiful parkland and visits the restored Castle Mound, all that remains of Bedford castle, which was destroyed in the siege of 1224.

Priory park is an ideal place for a picnic, with a superb boating lake for the children. Weekly markets are held on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The Trail is about three miles long and should take around two hours to walk. There are a number of steps and inclines over bridges, it is therefore inaccessible to wheelchair users, but accessible to pushchairs.

Admission:

£6.99 per Trail (not per person). One Trail booklet recommended for a group of 4 to 5 people.

Opening Times:

Trails are self-guided and can be instantly downloaded from our website. Follow the Trail, solve the clues and see the sights on any day of your choosing. There is no need to phone us for opening details. All Trails are designed to be completed in daylight and that is your only restriction.
