The Ark Open Farm is owned and operated by Stewart and Lorraine Donaldson. We opened the farm to the public on 14th August 1990, since then it has grown in size and in popularity. Our main aim being the preservation of rare and endangered species of domestic animals. Set in forty acres of unspoiled countryside it is home to approximately two hundred animals of all kinds. cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, goats, donkeys, llamas, alpacas, ponies, all so tame and friendly. We also have lots of cute and cuddly rabbits, chicks, guinea pigs, pet lambs ,kid goats, ponies to ride, you can get up close and have lots of interaction, supervised by our friendly helpful staff. There is also an indoor play area with pedal ride on tractors, diggers and dumpers and an outdoor adventure play area, picnic sites and the cottage cafe/restaurant serving genuine home cooked food. Paddy pony rides for children up to the age of 5 years old - Murphy pony rides for children 6 years and over - Pony rides are seasonal and weather dependant - Newly refurbished outdoor play area with play equipment for all ages - Bumblebee quad rides The Ark Farm is unique, being the only one of it’s kind specializing in animals no longer seen in Northern Irelands fields and the only farm staying open all year round.
