| Nature of Enquiry | Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you in the hope that you may be able to help me please.
My name is Paul Garner, I am fifty two years old, live in Wyberton near Boston with my family, and am employed by Western Power Distribution (an electricity company) as a linesman.
On April 21st this year I will be taking part in the Virgin London Marathon, my chosen charity is the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) which I'm sure you will agree is a very worthy cause.
In recent years I have completed the Great North Run and several other similar events over lesser distances. I am continuing to train hard whilst following a pre set fitness plan. The Virgin London Marathon is one of the top five such events in the world, so as you can imagine I am very happy to have gained a place and an opportunity to raise funds for the NSPCC.
Having secured sponsorship from family, friends and work colleagues I am now asking local companies and organisations if they would be kind enough to sponsor me, this would help towards raising my target amount of £2000. In return I will publicly thank all of my sponsors, companies by their individual names, in a local newspaper soon after the marathon has taken place.
